Privacy Policy

The short version: Brewcaddy doesn't collect any data. None. Your recipes and brews live on your iPhone, and backups go only to your own iCloud Drive.

tl;dr

  • We don't collect any data, and there's no account to sign up for.
  • Nothing is sent to us or to any server we run. There isn't one.
  • No analytics, no tracking, no ads.
  • Apple may or may not collect your usage information, but we do not.

Your scale

  • Brewcaddy uses Bluetooth only to find and connect to your coffee scale. iOS asks your permission first.
  • While connected, it reads weight (and, on scales that report them, flow rate and battery level), and sends commands like tare. That's the only conversation it has over Bluetooth.
  • Scales you connect are remembered on your iPhone so you can reconnect with a tap. You can forget a scale at any time.

Recipes and brews

  • Your recipes, brew history and settings are stored on your iPhone.
  • Each brew keeps the scale's weight and flow readings over time, so you can review it later. They never leave your device unless you back them up.
  • Deleting Brewcaddy deletes everything it stored on your iPhone.

iCloud backup

  • Backup & Restore only runs when you ask it to. It saves your recipes (and, if you choose, your brew history) to a Brewcaddy folder in your own iCloud Drive, where you can see it in the Files app. Before a restore, it also saves a backup of what you had, so you can undo it.
  • Backups travel from your iPhone to your iCloud account; we never see them. Apple stores them under its own privacy policy.
  • Brewcaddy keeps the 10 most recent backups of each kind. Otherwise, backups stay in iCloud Drive until you delete them, including after you delete the app. You can remove them in the app, in Files, or in your iCloud settings.
